Overall PG and HG

Unfortunately we have had to cancel all tandem flying.
Only safe landings on your feet are scored. On your feet means only your feet, your harness boot, and for hangs your wingtips and the rear of your keel, can touch the beach until after a full stop. (If you have a reason you can’t land on your feet talk to the spot coordinator BEFORE you fly for an exception.) Spot landing can be closed and opened by an announcement over the radio for weather, beach traffic, or any other reason, so be listening. Please clear the landing zone as soon as you can.
Any dangerous approach (at the spot judge’s discretion), stalls, falls, spins, whacks, stumbles, tumbles or other shenanigans get a zero. Dangerous approaches also include startling or frightening people on the beach, and landing too close to, or too soon after, another pilot so plan your approach early and accordingly.
Scoring
You are responsible for making sure the spot judge has your name and your score correctly recorded at the time of landing. Please be patient if it’s busy, and please remember the spot judge’s discretion will override any protest, so be nice. Remember this contest is for fun!
For PG:
The landing spot will be measured at the first point of contact if approaching the target, or where you plant your feet and stop, if moving away.
A bullseye (no steps outside of a 2-foot diameter circle) earns 50 points.
Landing within 30 feet of the center of the bullseye scores 30 points minus the number of feet away from center.
Best single landing wins … tiebreaker is the pilot’s next best landing, and so on.
If pilots are still tied after all their landings are counted, first pilot to have reached the tying score (earliest last landing) will be declared the winner.
For HG:
There will be a separate bullseye – ask before launch if you don’t see it.
All distances and points are x 2, otherwise works the same.
